We are seeking to recruit a HGV Class 1 Night Driver to safely and efficiently manage the movement of trailers and vehicles within the yard, ensuring timely positioning to support operational requirements, loading schedules, and customer service delivery.
Salary: £40,800 per annum
Shift: Night shift 4 on 4 off so some weekend will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out shunting of trailers between parking areas, loading bays, and operational zones
- Ensure all trailer movements are completed in line with site plans and loading schedules
- Position trailers accurately and safely onto loading bays
- Liaise with warehouse and transport teams to ensure priorities are met
- Operate all vehicles in full compliance with road transport and internal safety policies
- Conduct daily vehicle checks (pre-use and defect reporting)
- Ensure coupling and uncoupling procedures are carried out safely
- Maintain high awareness of yard safety, pedestrians, and site traffic systems
