Import Operations Assistant in Felixstowe

Join the team at George Baker as an experienced Freight Forwarder and take the lead in managing our customers air and sea freight – from arrival through to final delivery. You\’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth, efficient logistics and outstanding service every step of the way.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage import air and sea freight from arrival to delivery
• Use internal systems to create and track shipments
• Handle FCL and LCL shipments
• Check and forward documentation to shipping lines
• Build strong customer relationships to grow business
• Complete accurate customs declarations
• Coordinate with clients, depots, warehouses, and hauliers
• Provide regular shipment updates to customers
• Invoice according to quotes and fee structures
• Resolve queries and issues efficiently

Skills and Experience Required:

• Minimum 1 years previous experience in a similar role essential
• Good knowledge of customs processes and documentation
• Ability to communicate effectively with shipping lines and hauliers
