We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Transport Operations Supervisor to oversee two shunt operations running between a production plant and end users. This is a fast-paced, continuously changing environment that demands strong operational control, clear communication, and the ability to stay calm and decisive under pressure.
The successful candidate will be someone who is proactive, detail-focused, and able to manage priorities as conditions change throughout the shift. This is a key operational role within a busy and demanding transport environment. You'll have real responsibility, autonomy on shift, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on daily performance at Uniserve Warrington.
Location: Appleton, Warrington
Shift Pattern: We require 2x Days, 4 on / 4 off, 12 hours
Additional Information: Holiday embargo applies from 1st December to 1st January
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate two live shunt operations between the production plant and end users
- Ensure trailers, vehicles, and drivers are positioned correctly to meet production and delivery requirements
- React quickly and effectively to changing operational demands, delays, or disruptions
- Maintain constant communication with site teams, drivers, and customers
- Ensure all transport activities comply with company policies, health & safety, and legal requirements
- Monitor performance, identify issues early, and take corrective action where needed
- Complete accurate operational reporting and handovers between shifts
- Support driver performance, engagement, and compliance on site
Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience in a transport or logistics supervisory role (shunt operations experience is highly desirable)
- Exceptionally well organised with strong time-management skills
- Comfortable working in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment with continual change
- Confident decision-maker who can prioritise and adapt quickly
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders
- IT-literate with experience using transport or warehouse systems
