We are now looking for an organised, proactive LCL Import Operator to join our growing team. You'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth, compliant, and timely movement of cargo, working closely with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to deliver the high-quality service we're known for. This is a fast-paced role where attention to detail, strong communication, and a commitment to getting things right first time are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Chasing of customs clearance documents from customers prior to vessel arrival
- Respond to email queries promptly and professionally
- Collect all necessary documentation prior to the release/delivery of cargo
- Arrange haulage with shipping lines/hauliers
- Ensure shipments are rated and invoiced correctly
- Maintain compliance
- Updating stakeholders with progress of shipments
- Secure payment of cleared funds for COD accounts before release/delivery of cargo
Skills/Experience:
- Min 4 years experience in Freight forwarding
- Strong understanding of customs processes and documentation
- Excellent communication skills and a customer centric mindset
- Ability to prioritise, stay organised, and work accurately under pressure
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
