The Vacancy
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Import Operations Assistant to support the end-to-end handling of international air and sea freight shipments. This role involves booking and tracking shipments, processing customs documentation, liaising with logistics partners, and ensuring timely delivery to customers. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of import processes and a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Book and manage import air and sea shipments from arrival to delivery.
- Enter and track shipments using company systems.
- Prepare and submit accurate customs and shipping documents.
- Communicate with shipping lines, hauliers, warehouses, and customers.
- Keep customers updated on shipment progress.
- Handle delivery arrangements and solve any issues that arise.
- Create and send invoices accurately and on time.
- Support team members and assist with general admin when needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in freight forwarding or import operations.
- Ocean Import Experience required.
- Ocean Air Experience a bonus.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with freight systems (e.g. Multifreight) and Microsoft Office.
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
