The Uniserve Group, a dynamic and rapidly growing UK-based logistics and supply chain group with a substantial global footprint, is seeking a passionate Junior Legal Counsel to join our expanding in‑house legal team. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and self‑starting individual at the early stages of their legal career who is eager to learn and grow within a fast‑paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Drafting & Negotiation – Assist with reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts (NDAs, customer/supplier agreements, logistics, marine insurance, customs, etc.) and advise on contract terms to align with business objectives and manage risks.
- Dispute Resolution & Litigation – Support dispute resolution and provide legal advice on cost‑effective strategies.
- M&A Support – Assist with legal due diligence and corporate transactions.
- Legal Advice for Leadership – Provide strategic legal advice to management on operational issues, risk assessments, and business development.
- Legal Team Support – Collaborate on legal projects, optimise processes, and support digital transformation in legal operations.
- General Legal Support – Maintain organised legal records, manage databases, and ensure all documents are up to date.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
- Recently qualified solicitor (around 3 years PQE, England & Wales or equivalent).
- Strong academic background and interest in commercial law.
Experience:
- Experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts (internships or early PQE experience welcome).
- Exposure to logistics, transport law, marine insurance, or customs is a plus.
- In‑house experience (including secondments) is desirable but not required.
- Proactive self‑starter with strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Desire to learn, take on responsibility, and adapt to new challenges.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and deliver legal solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and familiarity with legal tech and case‑management systems.
- Experience in international shipping, transport, marine insurance, or logistics law.
- Knowledge of corporate governance and risk management in a multinational business.
