The Inventory Control Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring inventory accuracy, efficiency, and compliance within a 3PL facility, directly impacting operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction. This position is vital for optimizing inventory management processes, minimizing discrepancies, and fostering collaboration across operations, warehouse staff, and client teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation processes to maintain high inventory accuracy.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor inventory control policies, procedures, and KPIs for the facility.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, root cause issues, and provide corrective action plans.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, service level agreements (SLAs), and company standards.
  • Lead and train inventory control staff, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and safety.
  • Partner with Operations, Shipping/Receiving, and Customer Service teams to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
  • Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track, monitor, and report on inventory activity.
  • Prepare and present inventory reports for internal leadership and customers.
  • Collaborate with IT, Engineering, and Process Improvement teams to enhance inventory control processes and system functionality.
  • Support audits (internal, external, and customer-driven) by providing accurate records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or supply chain operations, preferably within a 3PL environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
