Maintenance Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and proactive Maintenance Technician to carry out general maintenance and remedial works across our student accommodation properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that buildings, rooms, and communal areas are maintained to a safe, functional, and high standard for residents. Key Responsibilities Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and remedial works throughout the accommodation. Perform basic plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks, replacing taps, unblocking sinks, and minor pipework repairs. Undertake basic electrical maintenance, such as replacing light fittings, bulbs, switches, sockets, and conducting visual inspections. Conduct and record weekly fire alarm tests in accordance with safety procedures. Conduct and record weekly emergency lighting and alarm system checks. Complete painting and decorating works, including touch-ups and room refurbishments. Carry out basic joinery and carpentry tasks, such as repairing doors, locks, furniture, shelving, and fixtures. Respond promptly to maintenance requests raised by residents and management. Assist with room turnaround and refurbishment projects during student move-in and move-out periods.
