Location: Woodberry Wetlands, Walthamstow Wetlands, Camley Street Natural Park, and home working.
Hours: Some evening and weekend working can be expected in this role but hours are typically 9:00am – 5:00pm. We welcome flexible working requests from day one.
Role & Responsibilities
The Private Hire events team form a crucial part of the wider commercial strategy for London Wildlife Trust, bringing in vital unrestricted income that supports us to deliver our charitable mission. Reporting to the Events Sales Manager, this role will be part of a small but busy team delivering memorable and high-quality events across the three visitor hub sites set in stunning nature-rich locations in central London. The private hire events vary from meetings, conferences, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, product activations and even fashion shows!
- Managing all enquiries into the events department at London Wildlife Trust by phone, email and in person.
- Assist the Event Sales Manager to identify potential sales opportunities and generate agreed sales targets through reactive and pro-active sales.
- Conduct site visits with potential clients, both in person and virtually and to follow these up by providing additional private hire information, identifying upselling opportunities.
- Build a warm, friendly and approachable rapport with clients by keeping in regular contact and assisting with them throughout their event journey.
- Liaise with suppliers, conduct logistic meetings, and prepare event schedules.
- To operationally manage and attend events as requested to ensure a smooth operation and a high level of customer service (including some evening and weekend work).
- Assist with the planning and execution of public ticketed events, ensuring a diverse, exciting programme of events.
Our ideal Events Planner
- At least one years’ experience in venue sales or operations.
- Proven sales experience (proactive and reactive) in an events environment such as hotels or wedding/conference venue.
- Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Operational knowledge of events in a hotel or wedding/conference venue.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including relationship building.
- A competent user of Microsoft Office.
- Capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
