Unique Venues Birmingham (UVB) is a joint venture between Birmingham Repertory Theatre and the Library of Birmingham, combining their expertise to offer exceptional conferencing and hospitality services. Situated in the iconic shared building on Centenary Square in Birmingham city center, UVB provides unique spaces for both corporate and private events. Role Description
This is a casual, on-site role located in Birmingham for a Casual Events Technician. The Events Technician will oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio-visual equipment, including AV systems, projectors, video conferencing systems, and lighting setups. The selected individual will provide technical support during events, ensure equipment functionality, and troubleshoot technical issues as needed. Collaboration with team members and clients will be essential to deliver high-quality technical services that meet the requirements of different events.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining Audio Visual (AV) systems
- Experience with Video Conferencing and Projector setup and operation
- Knowledge of Lighting systems and their configuration for events
- Strong Troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical issues
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- Flexibility and willingness to work varying schedules, including evenings and some weekends
- Previous experience as an Events Technician or in a similar role is advantageous
