Do you have Lived Experience of a Learning Disability and would like to become a Co Trainer, delivering Oliver McGowan Training locally in your community? We currently have a need for applicants living in and around these areas:

  • Manchester
  • Exeter
  • Cambridge
  • Milton Keynes
  • Truro
  • Plymouth
  • Reading
  • Oxford
  • Durham
  • Leeds
  • Brighton

We offer a blend of: Work from home (online delivery of Tier 1) with face-to-face delivery locally (within 1 hour of home) of Tier 2 programmes.

If you have a learning disability and feel comfortable sharing your experiences to help others learn, we have the perfect opportunity for you. Your lived experience is essential to delivering the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism. We will fully fund your training and support you every step of the way so you can become a confident Co-Trainer, delivering sessions online and (if you choose) in person. You will always work alongside an experienced Facilitator Trainer who will support you throughout.

Requirements

The Role

As a Co-Trainer with Lived Experience, you will:

  • Co-deliver Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training
  • Share your personal experiences in a safe, structured, and positive way
  • Help health and social care staff understand what good care and communication look like
  • Work closely with another trainer to deliver engaging and inclusive sessions
  • Support the development of accessible and engaging training materials
  • Act as a professional ambassador for people with learning disabilities

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a learning disability and experiences they feel comfortable sharing
  • Is passionate about improving understanding and respect
  • Feels confident speaking to groups, or is willing to build confidence
  • Enjoys working as part of a supportive team
  • Is open to learning and personal development
  • Can travel locally if choosing to deliver face-to-face sessions

You do not need previous training experience — we will provide everything you need to succeed.
