Expert with Lived Experience Trainer Co- Facilitating Training Role

The Role

OM – EWLE Trainer Application

Are you Autistic or do you have a Learning Disability? Do you have experience of using health and social care services and want to share your experiences with others to help educate them?

If so, and you have the ability to communicate your story, confidence to talk to others in a group setting (either over Teams or face to face) and would like to join a supportive and fun team to co-facilitate training, then this could be an ideal opportunity for you.

If your application is successful, UTS will provide you with the training that is needed to approve you to become an Oliver McGowan Lived Experience Trainer and will support you every step of the way during your time working with us.

We Would Like You To:

· Have lived experience of a learning disability or be autistic and have experience of using health and social care services.

· Be confident to speak in front of others and share your experiences.

· Deliver training across Health and Social Care teams.

· Commit to the work you accept.

· Work professionally within a team.

· Have access to IT and/or can travel to your training bookings (locally or further if you are able to).

What Can You Expect From UTS:

· A place on our accredited training programme enabling you to qualify to deliver Oliver McGowan training through UTS.

· A well supported on-boarding and induction process, working with you every step of the way to build your confidence to be ready to start your new role and deliver training.

Hours and Pay:

We can be very flexible with the level of work we offer. Please let us know in your application your availability to work.

£30 p/h + expenses.

We are approved by Health Education England to deliver the recently launched Oliver McGowan training packages which are co-delivered with experts with a lived experience (EWLE) of a

Learning disability and those who are autistic.

UTS now need to expand their training team and hire and train, experts with lived experience across the UK.

The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is co-delivered by trainers with a lived experience of learning disability and autism to help people working across health and social care to understand their role in supporting people and the difference they can make to continuously improving the care and support they receive. It is a standardised package of learning that is delivered by trained and approved trainers.
