Unique School Solutions is supporting a friendly and inclusive primary school in the S25 area of Sheffield to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant to work with children with speech, language, and communication needs in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This is a full-time role to commence in January 2026. Initially, this role will be long-term temporary; there is the opportunity for a direct school contract for the right candidate with the school, following a successful probation period.

The role:
- Supporting children with speech, language and communication needs in a small and bespoke specialist provision within school
- Working under the direction of the teacher
- Providing personalised support and learning to children with SEND

Essential requirements for the role:
- Previous and recent experience of working with children with SEND in a school environment
- Previous experience of working with children with a range of needs, including speech and language difficulties
- Be prepared to support children’s physical needs, including supporting toileting, changing nappies and feeding children
- Have a good understanding of how the fundamentals of reading, writing and maths develop in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to use own initiative
- The ability to build rapport with young learners
- The ability to work 1:1 and support small groups with learning
