Autism (ASD) specialist Teaching Assistant
Unique School Solutions is working with a specialist school in Rotherham who are looking for Autism (ASD) specialist Teaching Assistants to work in both their primary and secondary units, supporting students with Autism (ASD) and/or Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA). The role starts ASAP and, for the right candidate, could lead to a permanent position after 12 weeks.
Start date: ASAP
Contract type: Temp – perm following 12 weeks successful temporary placement
Working hours: Monday – Friday, term time only
Pay: £115 per day (inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay)

Essential Requirements for the Role
- Previous experience working with children or adults with ASD and/or PDA within the last 2 years, and within a school, residential, or social care setting
- A good level of physical fitness – this is a demanding role
- Patience, empathy and calmness
- The ability to work under the direction of the class teacher as well as using own initiative
- Personal care and Makaton experience is desirable but not essential
