We are a small family owned ladies gym working primarily with mature ladies. We offer a focused 30 minute resistance circuit designed to promote muscle strength, improve flexibility and bone density. Our coaches play a crucial role in educating our members about resistance training and how to use our specialised circuit machines. We work with members across a wide age spectrum and often help members who are recovering from various operations and illnesses.

We are seeking a mature lady coach in a self employed capacity, who is passionate about people, communication across all age groups and providing excellent personalised customer care. You will also need to run our coach led classes we offer (except on a Saturday). Full training can be provided but a background in class exercise would be extremely desirable.

The ideal candidate will have a background in gym work, class led training or sports in general, preferably with an NVQ level 2 or 3 in personal training. However, this is not essential as full training will be given for the right candidate. Experience in social media marketing will also be seen as an advantage. Ability to use a computer such as Word and Excel at very basic levels is required. Training will be provided regarding our own club system.

Once trained, you will be working the shift on your own, so it is important that you are first aid certified and very reliable. If you have yet to get a first aid certificate, you must be willing to obtain one prior to taking on the role. The role also involves occasional promotion work for the gym such as handing out leaflets or working at local summer shows on a team stand. This is a requirement of the role and additional hours will be offered to carry out these tasks.

You will be required to train members on the gym machines, ensuring they have the proper technique and are using the equipment safely. We will train you on this. You will also need to monitor member progress, correct and upgrade their workouts as appropriate. You will need to ensure the gym environment is kept clean and sanitised. Much of the shift can be spent at reception, so administration tasks also form part of the job description such as rota management, poster production, class timetables, etc. You should be willing to work as part of the team.

Shifts Required:

  • Saturday 8.15 a.m - 12.30 p.m. immediately
  • Monday 6.45 a.m. - 10.15 a.m. immediately
  • Friday 4 p.m. - 6.15 p.m. from mid June

There will be opportunities to work additional hours to cover holidays, sickness, and for promotional purposes and team meetings. These will be fixed shifts with some flexibility to swap with other coaches, on occasion, if required. We are open to employing more than one coach from this advert, so if you can only, for example, work a Friday shift then please still apply. We are a truly unique community and gym. It is a lovely working environment filled with chat and laughter.
