What you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development and execution of the UK sustainability roadmap, translating EU priorities into a clear seasonal plan and country-level calendar.
  • Driving cross‑functional sustainability initiatives in partnership with global, regional, and local teams, ensuring strong delivery, visibility, and alignment with business priorities.
  • Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the effectiveness of sustainability projects and communications, using insights to strengthen impact and inform future activity.
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and senior leaders to embed sustainability across the organisation and increase understanding, ownership, and support.
  • Representing UNIQLO externally with UK NGOs, partners, forums, and industry events, while helping to identify and develop strategic partnerships that strengthen local impact.
  • Managing relationships with non‑profit organisations to design and deliver meaningful volunteering opportunities with social and environmental value.
  • Conducting research and staying informed on evolving industry best practices, applying insights to ensure retail operations, products, and services continuously align with sustainability priorities.
  • Championing diversity and inclusion as core principles of the business, supporting initiatives that create opportunities for people with disabilities, refugees, and other underrepresented or vulnerable groups.
  • Monitoring and reporting sustainability KPIs across social contribution, RE.UNIQLO initiatives, and sustainability communications for the UK business, sharing progress with key stakeholders, including global headquarters.
  • Supporting the integration of sustainability into key business functions, including recruitment, training, new store openings, store operations, product and sales activity, PR, marketing, and digital communications.

RE.UNIQLO & Circularity

  • Defining and driving the RE.UNIQLO strategy, identifying new growth opportunities across the UK.
  • Supporting the development and roll‑out of RE.UNIQLO Studios, including new openings.
  • Assessing and developing innovative circular business models, including resale and other value‑creation initiatives.

Skills, Experience and Attributes:

  • 5–8 years’ experience in a sustainability‑related role.
  • Proven interest and engagement in sustainability, ideally with relevant hands‑on experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Confident public speaker, with experience addressing diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and internationally.
