We are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to become a key member of our Financial Control & Accountability team based in our London head office. This role will take full ownership of a designated European market and will report to the Accounting Manager. You will work closely with the wider finance team and the business, including Store Managers and head office teams. This is an opportunity for someone with strong technical accounting expertise and a commercial mindset.

You will be responsible for:

  • IFRS reporting, including additional quarterly and annual disclosures
  • Implementing and monitoring J‑SOX controls
  • Preparing monthly journals and reconciliations for designated markets, and leading month‑end P&L reviews and balance sheet analysis meetings
  • Holding regular discussions with Corporate Planning to support P&L management and business insight, while actively seeking cost‑saving initiatives for designated markets or the wider European business
  • Presenting key findings on a monthly basis to the COOs for the assigned markets
  • Building relationships with store management and the EC business to identify potential accounting issues and support management’s understanding of their P&Ls
  • Taking ownership of compliance for designated countries, including local reporting requirements, coordination with third‑party tax consultants, VAT data, and local business statistics questionnaires

What we are looking for:

  • Qualified Accountant or at the final stage of ACCA or ACA qualification (or equivalent)
  • Retail experience is desirable; however, practical IFRS experience is preferred
  • Expert knowledge of balance sheet and P&L account classifications
  • Experience working with outsourced operations would be beneficial
  • Highly computer literate, with expert knowledge of Excel
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the business
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines
  • Proactive and able to adapt easily to change
