We are currently recruiting for an Information Security Specialist to sit within the European Information Security Office (ISO), based in our London office. You will report to the European Information Security Office Manager and work closely with stakeholders across stores, head office functions, IT, cybersecurity and privacy at a UK, EU and Global level. This is an opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to grow into a well-rounded information security professional and contribute to the global corporate security program.
The successful applicant will support daily security activities across the UK and EU region, provide business advisory guidance, assist with project coordination, help drive security awareness, and support foundational risk and vendor assessments.
What you will be responsible for:
- Acting as the first point of contact for security-related questions from business teams.
- Working with project managers and team members to define security requirements and support implementation.
- Supporting vendor and project risk assessments, identifying risks and gaps against information security policies.
- Following up on remediation activities until completion.
- Assisting projects and RFPs in integrating security and privacy evaluation steps at the appropriate stages.
- Promoting information security culture and help train employees on security and privacy best practices.
- Contributing to the creation of communication materials for Europe and support global awareness initiatives.
- Supporting the maintenance and development of security and governance procedures aligned with business needs.
- Assisting with Data Privacy Impact Assessments, AI Assessments and internal governance processes.
- Collaborating with cybersecurity and privacy experts on incident and data breach handling, including documentation, coordination and remediations.
- Building understanding of business operations to identify improvements and support secure ways of working.
- Travel within Europe as needed to support assessments.
Skills, Experience and Attributes:
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related IT discipline.
- 1-2 years of experience in Information Security, IT audit or risk assessments.
- Solid understanding of core security principles, cloud fundamentals and risk assessment methods.
- Exposure to security governance frameworks such as ISO 27001 (preferred), NIST or similar.
- Working knowledge of security and data privacy laws, regulations and standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Ability to clearly explain security topics to business stakeholders and train others.
- Strong organisational and follow-up skills.
- Proactive, curious and eager to learn.
- Autonomous with a problem-solving mindset.
- Strong collaborator with cross-functional teams across multiple countries.
- Understanding of the retail industry (preferred).
