Purpose: The management accountant will have autonomy to run end-to-end financial analysis supporting the commercial success of the business unit. They will be a commercially focused partner to the business supporting day-to-day operations and all financial reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Owner of month-end close activities, ensuring compliance with group reporting deadlines and accuracy in reporting and variance analysis.
  • Preparation and review of monthly management accounts for the business unit, providing financial and commercial insight to key financial and non-financial leaders within the business.
  • Collaborating with commercial teams as a key business partner providing financial support on existing & new opportunities and projects to further drive business growth.
  • Assist in the production and further development of financial reports and presentations for Senior Management.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing detailed analysis and insights into profitability drivers in conjunction with your Manager/Client Operations teams and in line with Group timetables.
  • Liaise with Group & Intercompany finance teams, and both internal and external auditors.
  • Support the ongoing review and assessment of controls and working with process improvement teams to implement or enhance internal controls - ensuring the business unit is aligned at all times to support the growth of the business.
  • Be flexible in this role to support the finance & commercial function of the Uniphar Group as instructed by your manager.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).

Key Skills & Experiences

  • Commercially minded Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA) with experience working with multi-functional disciplines including non-financial managers.
  • Strong ability to apply critical strategic thinking to resolve problems.
  • Self-motivated individual with ambition to be a high achiever within the organisation.
  • Proven time management and prioritisation skills focusing on urgent and overlapping deadlines, strong organisational skills, attention to detail and proven accuracy with record keeping.
  • High level of proficiency in excel and PPT, along with knowledge and experience across multiple ERP systems and statistical analysis (Netsuite/SAP an advantage).
  • Decision making skills, ability to develop innovative and workable solutions to real business situations and ability to work on own initiative to follow projects through to a successful conclusion.
