The University of Warwick is seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Finance Manager (PGR Funding) to join our Doctoral College. This is a key leadership role supporting our postgraduate research community by ensuring the effective financial management of public funded training grants, scholarships and PGR funding across the University. We are looking for a proactive finance professional who can lead with confidence, solve problems with initiative, and drive improvements that benefit the delivery of research funding at Warwick.
About the role
- Lead and develop a small finance team, ensuring excellent performance, clear direction and high‑quality service delivery to departments and stakeholders.
- Oversee the financial management of public funded training grants, including quarterly financial reports, forecasting, monitoring, and supporting Warwick’s five‑year planning process.
- Work closely with colleagues across the University as well as external funding bodies, providing authoritative advice on financial matters and maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Lead on process improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance financial systems, procedures and reporting capabilities across SAP, SITS, JeS and other platforms.
- Solve challenges independently, using your judgement and initiative to ensure contractual compliance, resolve discrepancies, and keep projects on track.
- Manage the PG Scholarships team, ensuring accurate, timely stipend and fee payments, and contributing to the annual SITS user acceptance testing cycle.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a varied finance environment, combining operational detail with strategic influence. This position offers a flexible hybrid pattern, with two days per week on our University of Warwick campus to support teamwork and engagement with colleagues.
