Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) is seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to provide robust financial support across our project portfolio. This is a key role responsible for delivering high‑quality management information, offering expert financial guidance, and ensuring strong financial planning and monitoring across all project activities.
Working closely with Budget Holders and the wider Finance team, you will play a central part in preparing budgets, monitoring performance, analysing variances, and supporting the efficient financial administration of WMG’s work. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail‑focused qualified accountant who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and improving financial processes.
Key Responsibilities- Work with Budget Holders to prepare detailed project budgets, reports, and forecasts.
- Produce quarterly and year‑end financial monitoring statements and analyse variances.
- Provide financial advice, support meetings, and ensure compliance with Financial Regulations.
- Prepare accurate costings for project proposals and maintain strong financial control processes.
- Keep financial systems and funding statements up to date, ensuring accurate forecasting.
- Use SAP effectively to enhance reporting and information flow.
- Maintain clear financial procedure documentation and support relevant working groups.
- Good honours degree or equivalent; or A‑Level (A–C or equivalent) with significant relevant experience.
- Fully qualified accountant (CCAB-recognised).
- Strong financial management experience, ideally within the public or not‑for‑profit sector.
- Experience budgeting and monitoring complex activities.
- Excellent technical accounting capabilities.
- Highly proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of research grant applications and financial administration.
- Understanding of the Higher Education environment and related accounting/tax issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain finance to non‑financial colleagues.
- Strong analytical skills and problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Familiarity with the Higher Education sector and university operations.
