We are seeking a motivated and committed individual to join the Safety, Health, Environment & Chemistry (SHEC) team as a SHE Apprentice at Grain Power Station. This is a structured 3-year apprenticeship programme combining academic learning with practical experience in a high-hazard, regulated power generation environment.
Your responsibilities:
- The apprentice will undertake a recognised SHE-related qualification supported by on-the-job training, mentoring, and exposure to operational activities and governance processes, as well as an IOSH accredited Safety, Health and Environment Technician Level 3 apprenticeship.
- Support implementation of the Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Assist with compliance against UK legislation (HSWA, PUWER, WAHR, COSHH, CDM).
- Support risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Assist incident reporting and investigation.
- Support contractor safety governance and assurance.
- Assist environmental monitoring and compliance.
- Support audits, inspections and assurance activities.
- Assist with inductions and SHE communications.
- Maintain registers and compliance trackers.
Your profile:
Entry Requirements
- Essential: Minimum 5 GCSEs including English and Mathematics.
- Strong interest in SHE disciplines.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Driving license and access to vehicle required.
- Desirable: A Levels or equivalent.
- Previous work experience.
- Interest in energy or industrial sectors.
