We have an opportunity for an Operating Technology (OT) Technician to join our highly skilled engineering team at Holford Gas Storage. As part of the UK critical infrastructure, this modern and highly automated facility is a key player in the UK energy portfolio.

Your responsibilities:
- Support the Lead OT Engineer with the delivery of the site Control and Instrumentation Maintenance and Engineering Strategy.
- Support the OT Security Engineer with the technical execution of Operational Technology (OT) maintenance for cyber security risk mitigation.
- Investigate and resolve emergent issues for field instrument and control equipment.
- Carry out routine OT cyber security maintenance activities under approved procedures, including patching support, antivirus updates, application control support, and upkeep of OT asset inventories, network diagrams, and records.
- Prepare maintenance orders for on‑site works.
- Delivery of packages of work within areas of competence.
- Support operation and upkeep of OT security controls and infrastructure, carrying out maintenance activities and corrective actions arising from assessments, audits, or engineering decisions.
- Provide technical assistance during OT cyber or OT‑related incidents and fault investigations through information gathering, directed checks, and execution of corrective actions.
Your profile:
Essential:
- Technical apprenticeship, including Level 3 Qualification or equivalent qualifications and experience in cyber security / control engineering / automation engineering.
- Proven C & I or industrial automation maintenance experience.
- Demonstratable experience and understanding of sensors, actuators, and signal conditioning equipment. Ability to read and interpret PLC logic in various languages would be beneficial but not essential.
- Working knowledge of Distributed Control Systems, Process Control concepts/philosophies and OT security principles.
- Basic awareness of common OT cyber security controls (e.g. network segmentation, access control, patching, logging) and their application in industrial environments.
- Ability to read and interpret a range of engineering drawings and documentation such as piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), panel schematics, logic diagrams, loop drawings & cause and effect charts.
Desirable:
- Has a basic understanding of cyber security principles and standards (e.g. IEC 62443, ISO 2700x) and demonstrates a willingness to learn and develop further in this area.
- An understanding of the health, safety and environmental aspects of the management of external service provider activities.
- Experience of trouble shooting DCS / PLC systems ideally ABB 800xA.
- Understanding of Functional Safety & DSEAR topics.
- COMPEX modules 1-4.
- Functional Safety Qualification.
