Become an Operator/Maintainer of the Future with a 4 year Apprenticeship. A Uniper UK apprenticeship is your ticket to becoming an Operator/Maintainer of the future. You will gain first-rate training and mentoring along with hands-on experience and the qualifications to prove it! Our apprenticeship is not just a real alternative to university, but also a genuine chance to learn and prove yourself at one of the largest power and gas companies in the world.
Your responsibilities:
- Learn on the job, gaining vital hands-on experience at our technologically advanced power stations around the UK whilst getting paid for it.
- In years 1 and 2, gain formal Engineering training and qualifications with an off-site training provider.
- In years 3 and 4, gain a HNC qualification and continue your operations and maintenance development at one of our Power Plants in the South East.
What’s on offer?
- At the end of your Apprenticeship, you’ll have impressive qualifications including a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering, a NVQ Level 3 in an Engineering discipline and a HNC qualification.
- This will enable you to gain rounded experience that could open up career opportunities including support for further education – even a degree!
- Your starting salary will be £16,750 and this will increase every 12 months subject to satisfactory performance, so in the fourth year, you could be earning over £29,000 and once graduated be earning over £37,000.
Your profile:
We look for capable individuals who have a combination of academic achievements as well as an interest in operating and maintaining power plants. This apprenticeship covers a range of skillsets and disciplines including mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation; the chosen individual will specialise in one of these fields. If you have at least five 4-9 Grades at GCSE in English, Maths, Science and Technology (or equivalents), we’d love to hear from you.
