The UK Trading IT Solutions team is looking for a Principle Business Analyst to join us from June 2026. We are an agile team, practicing continuous development to support the Short Term Power Trading Business. We are looking for an ambitious player with a range of interpersonal and technical skills to support the digitalisation journey of Uniper in the UK. This is a maternity cover position.

Your responsibilities:

  • Business Analysis is responsible for identifying and documenting the business needs of clients and stakeholders and helping to determine feasible solutions to meet business needs or resolve business problems.
  • Precisely capture business problems, value drivers, and functional/non‑functional requirements, including health, safety, security, usability, data, and supportability considerations.
  • Translate business requirements into functionality and assess the risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts of various solution options.
  • Create clear documentation to communicate requirements and related information; keep updated to align with the solution over the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure traceability of requirements from business needs and requirements, through testing and scope changes, to final solution.
  • Create and present compelling business cases to justify solution value and establish approval, funding and prioritisation.
  • Lead stakeholder management activities including facilitation of large design sessions.
  • Support longer‑term business strategic goals through proposing improvements in value, cost, process, data, technology, functionality, and initiating high‑level business requirements and feasibility studies to discover options and directions.
  • Respond to organisational and environmental changes during in‑progress activities.
  • Guide business stakeholders to gain acceptance/sign‑off despite competing objectives.
  • Manage requirements to the smallest set that will provide the biggest impact in advancing business objectives and end‑user buy‑in.
  • Describe technology in terms easily understood by business customers and set realistic customer expectations for the project outcome.
  • Generate innovative approaches to existing problems or new opportunities.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to build trust and understand their goals, motivations, constraints, risks, and operating environment.
  • Develop resources across geographies to help ensure a consistent quality in a scalable manner.
  • Work as part of evolving multi‑disciplinary teams which may include Software Developers, Test Analysts, Business Analysts and Project Managers to deliver value through the application of specialist skills.
  • Lead end‑to‑end implementations of requirements and projects.
  • Work with a hybrid team of delivery resources (internal & external); utilising scrum methodology where relevant.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams across UK, Europe and India.

Your profile:

Essential:
  • Substantial experience in IT Business Analyst role preferably in Energy and Trading platform.
  • Strong understanding of Batteries and Renewables Trading within Energy Industry.
  • Thorough knowledge in various forms of Commodity Trading.
  • Strong understanding of implementing Agile principles within a project setting.
  • Experience working in Agile projects and educating stakeholders including Product Owners and Business partners in Agile ways of working.
  • Proficiency in Agile tooling, such as VSTS.
  • Understanding of systems engineering concepts and data/process analysis and modelling.
  • Knowledge of the technology landscape including current and future developments and the most commonly available products and integrated solutions.
  • Analytical and systematic problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience developing cost/benefit analysis and building business cases.
  • Ability to analyse the alignment between business requirements and system capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
  • Agile certifications/trainings, Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or PMI‑PBA certification preferred.
  • Lean Practitioner training and experience are an asset.
Desirable:
  • Experience working on European Gas & Short Term Power Trading market ETRM systems, system configuration to support Power, CO2, GO and Nat Gas Portfolios – Physical Trading and Financial trading.
  • Working with solution architecture to ensure an end‑to‑end application landscape which meets business requirements.
  • Reviewing and elaborating interface specifications for other systems connecting to ETRMs.
  • Define and document standard run books and operating procedures.
  • Create and maintain system information and architecture diagrams.
