Your responsibilities:

  • We take your training and development very seriously and invest heavily to provide you with all of the tools you will need to be successful as you progress your career in the industry.
  • You’ll learn on the job, gaining vital hands-on experience at our technologically advanced power stations around the UK whilst getting paid for it.
  • In years 1 and 2 you’ll gain formal Engineering training and qualifications with an offsite training provider.
  • In years 3 and 4 you’ll gain a HNC qualification and will continue your operations and maintenance development at one of our Power Plants in the South East.
  • You’ll be learning from highly talented and experienced Operators and Engineers.
  • There’s a real community feel – as you’ll be one of a number of Apprentices on the same career path together.

Your profile:

We look for capable individuals who have a combination of academic achievements as well as an interest in operating and maintaining power plants. This apprenticeship covers a range of skillsets and disciplines including mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation; the chosen individual will specialise in one of these fields.

If you’ve always been fascinated by how all things work and you love taking them apart and putting them back together again, this apprenticeship could be perfect for you. If you have such a passion – and you have at least five 4‑9 Grades at GCSE in English, Maths, Science and Technology (or equivalents) – we’d love to hear from you.
