Data center infrastructure is one of the fastest-growing electricity demand segments. As Business Development Manager Data Center Solutions, you manage the energization of the digital infrastructure of tomorrow.
Your mandate: identify and develop energization concepts, structure complex commercial deals, and drive transactions from ideation to contract signature - as Deal Architect and Relationship Owner.
Your responsibilities:
- Deal Origination & Commercial Structuring: Identify and qualify Uniper’s sites and assets for Data Center potential across UK and potentially other markets. Evaluation and development of power related Customer Capacity Contracts or any other commercial Data Center opportunities in close cooperation with COO functions leveraging existing and new generation assets e.g. Gas engines, CCGTs, Hydro across Uniper’s core markets. End-to-end involvement: from ideation and development of Powered Land and Private Wire concepts until the Financial Decisions. Structuring of commercial agreements for e.g. behind-the-meter, dedicated grid connection/ private wire, and long-term power supply and capacity contracts from existing or new assets.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain an existing customer network covering the full Data Center deal value chain e.g. Hyperscaler, Private Equity project developers and Operators. Close collaboration with Power, Real Estate, Business Controlling, Legal and Risk to ensure robust deal structuring and commercial risk mitigation. Actively support the evolution of Uniper's Data Center strategy and new business models in cooperation with Innovation. Facilitate commercial negotiations at decision-maker level (C‑Suite, VP Infrastructure) with customers and partners.
Your profile:
- University degree e.g. in Engineering, Business Administration or Legal.
- Strong commercial mindset, communication and negotiation skills with proven track record in taking ownership and driving results.
- Track record in developing long term commercial business relationships.
- Ability to manage a complex network of stakeholders from e.g. customers, partners, and local authorities at all levels.
- Significant project management skills & experience within infrastructure projects.
- Good technical understanding of electrical infrastructure and TSO/DSO processes.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in an international environment required.
- Fluency in English required, additional languages are beneficial.
