Senior Material Resource Planner Location: Southport Hours: 37 hours per week, full time Salary: Β£ 33,000 per annum plus 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), pension, life assurance, employee assistance programme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits including cycle to work scheme About the Role As a Senior Material Controller, you will coordinate material flow from suppliers through to customer delivery, ensuring smooth supply chain performance, high customer satisfaction, and operational excellence across our manufacturing operations. As part of your key responsibilities, you'll: Manage the planning and delivery of production materials, ensuring 100% on-time supplier delivery performance and mitigating supply risks. Develop and manage supplier performance metrics, transmit supplier schedules, and escalate deviations promptly. Review daily production plans and analyse customer needs to align material coverage and production activities. Manage stock levels, shop floor material flows, stock adjustments, and inventory accuracy to improve stock turns and minimise obsolete stock. Support commercial negotiations with providers and manage engineering change implementations to ensure full material coverage. Train, coach, and support team members using Unipart Way tools, conducting root cause analysis (3Cs) to resolve failing KPIs. About You We'd love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you'd be able to perform well in this role! Experience as a Material Controller or in a high-volume transactional procurement/supply chain environment. Strong knowledge of material planning, MRP parameters, stock control, and supplier schedule management (SAP experience desirable). GCSE and A-Levels essential (or equivalent operational/manufacturing experience); degree-level qualification is desirable. Proven capability in data analysis, master data maintenance, and problem-solving under deadline pressures. Experience utilising continuous improvement (CI) or lean manufacturing principles.
