Portsmouth based, PO6 & PO3

About the Role
As the HSWS Manager for UPCS you will be responsible for leading the team in ensuring the business operates in full compliance. You will be a proactive collaborator, keen to get involved. As part of your key responsibilities you'll:
- Lead the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in defining and advancing H&S, Wellbeing, and Sustainability policies while driving the company’s ESG strategy and carbon reduction goals.
- Direct all site-level activities to recognize hazards and minimize risks, ensuring that Health, Safety, and Sustainability management systems meet or exceed industry standards.
- Act as the primary advisor on legal requirements, providing the SLT with clear interpretations of legislation and reporting any shortcomings to ensure total regulatory adherence.
- Establish a robust system of inspections, audits, and benchmarking to track KPIs, identify trends, and implement proactive initiatives based on data-driven insights.
- Foster a proactive organisational culture by leading cross-functional meetings, managing H&S champions, and championing wellbeing initiatives to increase employee buy-in.
- Maintain all critical safety documentation - including Risk Registers and COSHH - while devising training strategies to upskill the workforce and support business growth.
