S/4 Development Lead Field Based Salary range £70,000 - £80,000 per annum, car/car allowance, plus 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), pension, bonus, life assurance, employee assistance programme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits including cycle to work scheme About the Role As the S/4 Development Lead, you will be responsible for defining, governing, and managing the custom development lifecycle, clean core strategies, and extension standards across our delivery portfolio.
Reporting to the SAP Head of Technical Services, you will ensure our custom development meets rigid quality benchmarks and follows modern SAP extensibility frameworks, while mentoring our team of developers to drive technical excellence.
Enforce modern SAP extensibility guidelines (In-App and Side-by-Side extensions) to maintain a Clean Core strategy across Public and Private Cloud environments.
Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Technical Developers, driving technical upskilling and code quality standards.
Support the presales capability by reviewing technical requirements, designing custom technical solution proofs-of-concept, and providing accurate development effort estimations.
Enforce the practical application of SAP Activate tools, utilising Cloud ALM to govern developer task assignments and deployment tracking.
Support the SAP Head of Technical Services by reviewing complex technical design documents and driving automated testing framework alignment.
Essential Extensive SAP development experience, with a proven track record leading technical teams or developer practices.
Deep expertise in SAP Activate Methodology, with relevant certifications in ABAP Development, SAP BTP, or Cloud ALM preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex code architecture into clear, business-value concepts for project stakeholders.
Ability to travel nationally and occasionally internationally to support key workshops and project kickoffs.
