The predicted salary is between 40000 - 60000 £ per year.

Location: Rugby, Daventry & Bridgwater - Can be based at any site, however regular visits to all sites required.

Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.

Salary: £50,000 per annum, plus car / car allowance, 33 days holiday, pension, bonus, life assurance, employee assistance programme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits scheme.

About the Job:

Relationships mean everything to us, and this one is particularly special. You will have an important part to play delivering a high standard of performance across safety, compliance, service and cost.

You will support the operational management and leadership for Rugby, Daventry and Bridgwater to deliver an effective health and safety management system, reduce risk and accidents and support the development of a safety culture. As part of your key responsibilities you will:

  • Deliver, co-ordinate and evaluate health, safety and wellbeing training.
  • Be responsible for delivering allocated Health and Safety projects to enhance the site performance.
  • Identify, communicate, consult and share best practice across the sites to improve consistency and performance to include providing expert opinion on any matters Health and Safety related.
  • Work with and support managers in supporting operational health, safety and wellbeing matters to support a safe, healthy, supportive and legally compliant work environment.
  • Oversee the development and review of Risk Assessment (RA) and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and other measures to control identified risks.
  • Make SMART recommendations to ensure compliance, best practice and safe and healthy work activities/environment.
  • Act as an internal consultant to advise and coach managers on their responsibilities for Health and Safety duties, providing guidance and practical solutions to ensure legal compliance and best practice.
  • Provide leadership on the health, safety and wellbeing aspects of business and service plans.
  • Undertake Health and Safety assessments and advise/support managers through the risk assessment process at an operational level.
  • Act responsibly and lead by example. Stay up-to-date with any changes in legislation/new initiatives/best practice and provide recommendations on areas for improvement.

  • Experience within a similar role.
  • NEBOSH General certificate.
  • Member of IOSH.
  • Adaptable and able to react quickly and effectively to changes and requests.
  • Ability to build credible relationships with internal and external interdependencies.
  • Ability to cope with the demands of a fast moving and ever-changing set of priorities.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines while being helpful and approachable.
