As our Production Planning Manager, you will head Production Control and will develop and implement a site resource plan based on customer volumes / productivity data, developing a workload management tool that allows correct allocation of resources across site. You will implement a process for monitoring daily performance, highlighting inefficiencies and areas of improvement to the operational team, and will support in the build and design of the end to end production control processes, working closely on the vision and strategy.
As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:
- Lead all Production Control processes for the manufacturing logistics operation, ensuring all operational requirements, service, and productivity KPI’s are achieved and delivered in a timely manner.
- Analyse and maintain accurate and robust daily, weekly and monthly reporting mechanisms to monitor, control and improve performance.
- Ensure all direct activities have a relevant standard operating procedure and actively pursue the elimination of waste through the application of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
- Enthusiastically pursue own Unipart Way (UPW) goals / targets and ensure achievement of required UPW and contribute towards the overall team’s objectives by assisting in the design / creation of KPI’s and Visual Management and through participation in OCCs.
- Monitor team absence and performance, taking action where necessary, ensuring weekly reviews - provide solutions to team issues taking account of the appropriate policies and ethical practice.
- Create and maintain a positive team culture and spirit, encouraging involvement from all team members.
- Manage customer interfaces and expectations to ensure excellent customer service is achieved.
We’d love you to have the following skills and experience:
- Experience within Production Control (or similar) in a production logistics / high-volume fast-moving environment.
- Advanced MS Excel skills and data interrogation.
- Continuous improvement – proven capability of process design, process improvement.
- Sound understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation and regulations.
- Experience of managing, training, and motivating a large team to achieve their goals.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Lean production experience would be an advantage.
