The predicted salary is between 48000 - 72000 £ per year.

Develop and maintain all necessary financial controls, systems, and processes to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company’s finances and compliance with group and statutory requirements.

Ensure divisional leadership are kept informed with a weekly flash of plant finances and that plant management are provided with accurate and on time financial KPI’s and are held to account for operational performance.

Provide accurate, on time completion and review of monthly management accounts, supporting group submissions, variance analysis and review of balance sheet reconciliations.

Responsible for coordinating with plant leadership accurate submission of the company’s annual strategic planning, operating budget, periodic forecasts and supporting info to divisional management.

Support all commercial activities, ensuring accurate sales and margin data is available, interrogate commercial costings to ensure effective pricing strategies are implemented and support commercial discussions wherever necessary.

Develop and maintain product costing and inventory valuations. Update standard costs annually.

Proactively propose and evaluate cost saving / profit enhancing, continuous improvement or system enhancement opportunities.

Maintain and manage the businesses monthly cashflow forecast and support group treasury in any additional analysis needed.

Manage all site Opex and Capex projects ensuring accurate investment appraisals, cost control and post project reviews are completed.

Direct and support Finance staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained, to carry out their responsibilities to the required standards.

Monitor external contracts and services provided by suppliers to ensure that these are operating effectively and are providing the best value to the company.

Maintain records to meet legal and tax requirements and coordinate VAT, RDEC and Corporation Tax submissions to group planning teams.

Support group planning with the preparation of all information required for the business’s statutory annual accounts.

Any other task as reasonably required to fulfil the job function and support the aims of the business.

Experience/Qualifications

A qualified chartered accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with extensive experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller of a manufacturing facility.

Good experience of manufacturing ERP systems (IFS desirable but not essential).

A proven track record of delivering results at a senior level in the manufacturing sector.

Working knowledge of VAT, Corporation Tax, RDEC and UK GAAP.

Good experience of making sound judgments in a fast-paced finance environment whilst managing a team.

Ability to plan, organise and communicate effectively at all levels.

Knowledge & Skills

Pragmatic business acumen.

Advance Excel skills with the ability to manipulate large data sets.

A knowledge of product costing in a manufacturing environment would be highly desirable.

Strong leadership and people management skills.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and MRP.

Interpersonal Skills

Strong leadership with a willingness to question the status quo.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and interact with people at all levels (written and verbal).

Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and ensure time is prioritised around the most value-adding activities.
