We are looking for a Logistics and Stock Manager to join our team in this newly created role at the Southport site.

Reporting into the Divisional Stock Manager, you will have responsibility and accountability for the Unipart Rail Stock integrity and counting programs for the Southport site, validating, and justifying all and every stock transaction across site from a physical and systemic perspective. You will manage the Southport stores operation ensuring all operational SLA’s are maintained and have day-to-day management of all processes within the logistics operation.

You will be expected to use Unipart Way improvement methodologies to continuously improve operational processes and performance., * Day to day management across all processes involving Stock transactions from point of receipt to point of usage or despatch across the Southport Operation.

  • Working closely with the Divisional Stock Manager to enact the UPR cycle count programme across the Southport Site.

  • Delegated authority for the write on/ off of UPR owned stock by ensuring they are working within the prescribed governance parameters and conducting detailed investigations to address stock discrepancies.

  • Managing a small team of warehouse colleagues.

  • Work closely with the manufacturing operational teams to ensure the internal customer receives exceptional levels of service.

  • Lead the use of Unipart Way methodologies to drive continual improvement mindset within the operation., You may also have experience in the following: Logistics Manager, Stock Control Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Warehouse Manager, Inventory Manager, Distribution Manager, Operations Manager, Materials Manager, Transport Manager, Fulfilment Manager, Stock Planning Manager, Supply Chain Coordinator, Warehouse Operations Manager, Manufacturing Logistics Manager, Continuous Improvement Manager etc.

  • Considerable experience in a Stock planning and control role ideally within a Supply chain / Warehouse Location within the UK.

  • Experience in Lean methodology, process driven with proven experience within FMCG operations and CI qualifications.

  • Exceptional understanding of the transport and distribution industry along with the ability to review processes and capacity planning in relation to stock count schedules and adherence.

  • Advanced numeracy, statistical and reporting skills with the ability to analyse, interpret and manage information, data, and trends.

  • Experience of delivering results through cross-functional working and matrix organisations.

  • Commercial and financial awareness, with a full understanding of the impact of failure with regards to business costs, count targets and fulfilment of customer orders through distributed and manufactured products.

  • Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements, through the application of lean techniques. Must ensure full compliance with Unipart Way methodology and drive uptake and compliance through continual use of the tools within the Unipart Way.

  • Experience of operating and influencing at a senior level.

  • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development

  • Confidence in communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.

  • Excellent people skills with the ability to form and maintain strong relationships internally and externally and engage and manage key stakeholders, customers, and external providers.

  • Proven analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
