Overview
Overall Purpose of role: Visual inspection of moulded prepped polymer & carbon parts. Ensure parts are ready for paint line.
Responsibilities
- Visually inspect prepped parts prior to being handed to the paint line.
- Ensure documentation is completed correctly, including traceability data.
- Address all customer requirements.
- Deal with customer queries and complaints.
- Identify flaws in moulded parts and liaise with Mouldshop department to help establish root cause.
- Day to day interaction with the Javelin MRP system and QMS database to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Make amendments to documentation of non-compliance or process improvement.
- Assist in the NPI process for all new parts being introduced into the Prep Area.
- Assist in the improvement of skill sets within the Prep Team.
Competencies
- Technical knowledge and surface preparation.
- Inspection equipment proficiency.
- Knowledge of quality standards and documentation.
- Attention to detail.
Experience Required
- Experienced in the use of standard measuring equipment and processes (Mic’s, Vernier calipers etc.).
- Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 requirements is a distinct advantage.
- Interaction with MRP/ERP systems (Javelin preferably).
- Good computer literacy in particular all MS Office programs.
- Experience working with injection moulding or plastic assembly processes.
- Experience working with carbon components.
- Open and approachable communication abilities.
- Able to work well alone and in a team.
