Private Chef - Asian/Chinese Cuisine

We are seeking an experienced, highly capable and discreet Private Chef to support an HNW family at their private residence in Holland Park, London.

This is a hands-on and varied position requiring full ownership of the kitchen, from menu planning and food preparation through to grocery shopping, stock management and maintaining excellent kitchen standards following service. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in Chinese and wider related cuisine, with the ability to prepare fresh, varied and nutritious meals for a family of five, including three children.

The successful candidate will become a trusted member of the household and must demonstrate warmth, flexibility, professionalism and complete discretion when working within the family home.

Location: Holland Park, London

Days Off: Monday

Hours: School days approximately 7:00am–9:00am and 4:30pm–8:30pm; weekends and non-school days to include lunch and dinner service

Salary: Circa £60k, with approximately +/- 15% flexibility depending upon experience and working pattern

The Role

The successful candidate will take full ownership of the family kitchen, prepare high-quality Chinese and wider cuisine while adapting confidently to the family's daily schedule and requirements.

Private Household Cooking

• Prepare high-quality Chinese cuisine for the family.
• Plan and prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner according to the family's schedule.
• Create varied, nutritious and family-friendly menus.
• Prepare suitable meals for both adults and children.
• Cater to individual preferences and requirements.
• Adapt menus and meal timings around the family's changing schedule.
• Maintain consistently high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Take full ownership of the day-to-day running and organisation of the kitchen.
• Source and purchase fresh, high-quality ingredients.
• Carry out regular grocery and kitchen shopping.
• Monitor kitchen stock and ensure ingredients and supplies are replenished.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and work areas in an organised and presentable condition.
• Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Clean and reset the kitchen following dinner service.

Family Support

• Work flexibly around school days, weekends and family activities.
• Adapt to the family's changing needs and schedule.
• Demonstrate flexibility around meal timings and household requirements.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Private Chef or Family Chef who combines strong Chinese culinary expertise with a warm, adaptable and highly professional approach to private household service.

You will ideally have:

• A minimum of 5 years' professional experience as a Private Chef, Family Chef or similar.
• Strong expertise in Chinese cuisine and broader culinary knowledge.
• Genuine experience preparing meals for families and children.
• Confidence preparing a varied range of dishes and adapting menus to individual preferences.
• Strong knowledge of fresh ingredients, food sourcing and Chinese cooking techniques.
• Experience working within a private household would be advantageous.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to take full ownership of the kitchen.
• Experience managing grocery shopping, stock and kitchen supplies.
• Meticulous attention to cleanliness, hygiene and presentation.
• Flexibility and adaptability to the changing needs of a private household.
• The ability to work independently and use sound judgement.
• Exceptional discretion, confidentiality and respect for family privacy.
• Mandarin-speaking would be advantageous.
• Based within a reasonable commuting distance of Holland Park would be advantageous.
