Union Street Dental Care, Dundee (Private Practice) is looking to employ a Dental Hygienist to join our well-established private dental practice in Dundee city centre. We are a growing private practice with great patient and employee relationships. We strive for excellent customer service and providing the best care to all of our patients on a daily basis.

Condition of employment - you will be required to be registered with the GDC and obtain a PVG check. Hours are negotiable but ideally 4 days per week. The salary and days/hours for this position are negotiable to the right candidate. We offer a competitive package, including wage, pension scheme and flexibility for the right candidate.

Staff benefits include:

  • 5.8 weeks holidays, rising to 6.8 weeks pro rata after 5 years’ service.

This is a mixed practice (95% PVT), consisting of 3 surgeries, using Exact management system and Ex Pro Digital X-Ray system. Appointment times are predominantly 30 mins.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assess oral health needs of patients and their families.
  • Explain benefits of preventive care programs.
  • Recommend appropriate treatment plans according to patient's specific needs and conditions.
  • Take and record patient's medical histories and provide treatment instructions.
  • Provide accurate and effective oral hygiene treatment including post-visit instructions.
  • Assist patients with oral health maintenance procedures such as tooth cleaning, sealants etc.
  • Consult patients on current medical treatments for teeth and gums.
  • Administer injections, prescribed medications.
  • Educate patients on oral health care strategies.
  • Manage dental emergencies/first aid supplies/materials.
  • Manage patient records/preserve treatment progress data to be able to provide complete documentation to the dentist on time.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Dental Hygiene or equivalent.
  • Consistent computer proficiency required. Knowledge of dental software programs preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent.

Pay: From £27.50 per hour.
