We are looking for a driven and analytical Business Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be the critical bridge between business stakeholders and the technical delivery team — translating complex operational needs into clear, actionable solutions. You will own the full BA lifecycle: from deep-dive stakeholder interviews through to solution design, development oversight, and successful go-live.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements
- Conduct structured interviews and workshops with business users to elicit, challenge, and validate requirements.
- Build strong relationships across business units to become a trusted advisor and bridge to the technology team.
- Facilitate requirements sign‑off and manage stakeholder expectations throughout delivery.
- User Journey & Solution Design
- Map current‑state (as‑is) and future‑state (to‑be) user journeys, identifying pain points and opportunity areas.
- Apply design thinking principles — empathise, define, ideate, prototype, test — to arrive at user‑centred solutions.
- Build and iterate low‑ and high‑fidelity prototypes to validate concepts with business users before development begins.
- Design and document end‑to‑end processes with rigour, using standard notation (BPMN, swimlane diagrams, or equivalent).
- Produce clear process flows, wireframes, and solution blueprints that translate business needs into design specifications.
- Collaborate with architects and developers to validate technical feasibility and challenge scope creep.
- Delivery & Development Oversight
- Own the backlog: write well‑structured epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria in Jira.
- Actively participate in sprint ceremonies — refinement, planning, review, and retrospectives.
- Manage the product lifecycle end‑to‑end: from ideation and requirements through build, testing, release, and post‑go‑live review.
- Conduct UAT coordination and sign‑off, ensuring solutions meet agreed acceptance criteria before release.
- Track delivery progress, flag risks early, and drive resolution with the project team.
Essential
- 3+ years of Business Analysis experience in a technology delivery environment.
- Proven ability to run stakeholder workshops, conduct user interviews, and translate findings into business requirements.
- Strong design thinking capability — able to frame problems, generate ideas, and validate solutions with users iteratively.
- Hands‑on experience with process design and documentation, including current‑state/future‑state mapping and BPMN.
- Experience building prototypes (low‑ and high‑fidelity) to validate solutions before development investment.
- Advanced Excel skills — data analysis, modelling, pivot tables, and structured reporting.
- Demonstrable product lifecycle management experience, from discovery through to post‑release optimisation.
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
- Proficiency in Jira for backlog management, story writing, and sprint tracking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication — able to distil complexity into clarity for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Desirable
- Experience with Confluence for documentation and knowledge management.
- Exposure to Agile / SAFe delivery frameworks.
- Familiarity with data analysis and business intelligence reporting.
- Sector experience in maritime, engineering, or large‑scale infrastructure programmes.
Education
A relevant degree is required. We value analytical rigour and structured thinking — the following backgrounds provide a strong foundation for this role:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering (any discipline), Software Engineering, or Computer Science / Programming.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Business Analysis, Project Management, or a related field are advantageous.
- Equivalent professional qualifications or a demonstrable self‑taught track record combined with strong delivery history will be considered.
Industry Experience
We are particularly interested in candidates who have operated in complex, operationally intensive environments. Experience in one or more of the following sectors is a strong advantage:
- Maritime — shipping operations, port management, vessel tracking, fleet logistics, or maritime regulatory compliance.
- Engineering — civil, mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering environments with exposure to technical stakeholders and asset‑heavy operations.
- Big Infrastructure — large‑scale programmes in energy, utilities, transport networks, or major construction and capital projects.
Experience in these sectors signals that you understand long asset lifecycles, safety‑critical processes, regulatory constraints, and how to work effectively across multi‑disciplinary teams — all directly relevant to how we deliver.
