Job Description
This is a newly created position reporting directly to the group MD. Undertaking bookkeeping, preparing management accounts, cash flow forecasts, payroll and VAT returns for a group of companies in the glazing sector using cloud-based accounting package and MS Office tools.
Preferably MAAT or ICB qualified with demonstrable experience in a bookkeeping role, with experience in preparation of management accounts and other financial reporting.
In addition to bookkeeping, you'll take the lead on reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis across the group and identifying opportunities to improve finance systems, reporting and controls and assisting in managing projects across the group.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Preparing monthly management accounts and cash flow forecasts
- Completing bookkeeping, bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Liaising directly with customers and suppliers and handling day-to-day queries
- Paying suppliers and undertaking Credit Control
- Process monthly payroll
- Inter-company accounting, recharges and any compliance requirements
- Supporting the management team decision making with budgeting, forecasting and analysis
Essential Criteria:
- A minimum of 2-3 years within an Accounts / Finance Related role including payroll
- IT Proficient to include accountancy software packages
Desirable:
- Familiarity with Xero would be an advantage but not essential
- MAAT or ICB qualified

We're keen to hear from candidates with previous management accounts and bookkeeping experience, wider commercial experience is a real asset in this role. If you've got a good grounding in bookkeeping and want to further develop your management accounts experience we are willing to develop the right candidate.
You should enjoy building solid working relationships with the wider business and won't be afraid to ask for support if you need it. An ideal candidate will also communicate confidently with senior stakeholders and take a proactive approach to process improvement.
