Owning UBP’s enterprise AI platform: the tools, governance and adoption that let every division use AI safely and effectively.

About UBP

Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) is one of Switzerland’s leading global private banks, specialising in wealth and asset management for private and institutional clients. Founded over 50 years ago, UBP has grown to more than CHF184.5 billion, making it one of the world’s largest family-owned and family-run banking groups. The bank combines the long-term ownership mindset, independence, and agility of an entrepreneurial organisation with the credibility, resilience, and scale of a global financial institution. UBP serves high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and institutional investors across more than 20 locations worldwide, including London, Geneva, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.

Internal demand for AI at UBP is climbing fast across every division. This role exists to get ahead of that: to build a real AI capability, put the right tools safely into people's hands, and turn scattered experiments into results the business can measure. It is a founding role, with the scope to shape how the bank works with AI for years to come.

As Head of AI Platform, you own AI as a product. Rather than running every use case yourself, you build and manage the enabling platform (the sanctioned tooling, data-classification framework and governance) that lets every division adopt AI quickly and safely within its own data-sensitivity constraints. You set the strategy, prioritise where we invest, and work hand-in-hand with IT, security and compliance to develop and ship real, high-impact solutions across the group while protecting our clients, our people and the bank.

It is a high-visibility role with a direct line to senior leadership, the mandate to shape UBP’s AI strategy and the accountability to turn it into demonstrable value across a global bank.

Key responsibilities

  • Strategy & vision: define, align and communicate UBP’s AI vision and strategy, differentiated by division and domain (e.g., Compliance, Asset Management, Relationship Management), and keep it current as the technology evolves.
  • Platform & investment: define and prioritise the investments required to stand up and operate the AI platform (model and tools access, deployment options, guardrails and reusable “skills”), working closely with IT and Security to ensure data is handled within UBP’s control.
  • Differentiated access by domain: establish a clear user-classification approach so employees receive the right tools for their data access (e.g., domain‑appropriate tooling for client‑facing teams versus broader capability where only non-confidential data is involved).
  • Adoption & enablement: drive bottom-up adoption across divisions through communication, training and enablement.
  • Use-case delivery & governance: operate a transparent intake and prioritisation process for high-impact use cases (scored on impact, effort and risk), bring forward funded business cases and proofs-of-concept, and support an AI Platform Steering Committee for alignment and budget decisions.
  • Stakeholder management: act as the connective tissue between the business, IT, security, Compliance and management, leading through influence and clear prioritisation.

Your profile

  • Proven product management experience, ideally delivering platform or internal-product capabilities.
  • Strong track record of prioritisation, stakeholder management and outcome ownership in a complex organisation.
  • Proven experience of modern AI technology (LLMs, agentic / tool-using systems) and how it is deployed securely in an enterprise, sufficient to earn credibility with technical and risk teams.
  • Hands-on and solutions-oriented approach, getting into the detail to find practical answers and unblock problems across technology, data and compliance, keeping delivery moving rather than managing from a distance.
  • Familiarity with the constraints of a regulated, data-sensitive environment; experience in financial services is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent communicator, able to translate between business, technology and risk audiences and to engage senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable leading through influence rather than direct authority.
  • Product & delivery: discovery, prioritisation frameworks, roadmapping, business-case development and ROI articulation.
  • Technical fluency: enough depth in AI/LLM tooling, integration patterns and secure deployment to make sound trade-offs with IT and Security.
  • Governance & risk: data classification, security and compliance awareness in a regulated setting.
  • Communication: executive-level written and verbal communication; internal enablement and change management.
  • Language: English required; French an advantage.

What we offer

  • A rare founding mandate: the scope to design UBP’s AI capability and see it through to real deployment.
  • Executive sponsorship where it counts, ready to invest into high ROI business cases and authority to move quickly.
  • Genuine autonomy to set the strategy, choose the tools and shape a new function, backed by a bank with the independence to invest for the long term.
  • Visible impact across the Group: work whose results are felt in every division and reported to senior leadership.
  • A competitive salary and benefits package.
