This is a senior role within our Digital Account Management team, sitting at the heart of the agency and working closely with strategy, creative, digital marketing, developers and media. You’ll be a trusted client partner, a confident leader internally, and a champion of smart, effective digital thinking.
The opportunity: Yes, it’s a cliché - but no two days are the same. This role offers the chance to work across high-profile, purpose-led and commercial client accounts, delivering integrated digital campaigns that solve real business problems. From always-on digital activity to major campaigns, you’ll be trusted to lead, challenge and inspire both clients and internal teams. You’ll play a key role in growing accounts, shaping digital strategy, supporting new business pitches, and mentoring the next generation of account managers.
Your role:
- Lead and run key client accounts, taking full responsibility for day-to-day delivery, relationships and performance.
- Apply strategic digital thinking across projects and campaigns, ensuring work is effective, measurable and commercially sound.
- Act as the senior point of contact for clients, building strong, trusted relationships.
- Work closely with strategy and digital teams to interrogate briefs, challenge thinking and develop clear, actionable communications and creative briefs.
- Confidently present and sell digital and creative ideas to clients.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to a high standard.
- Manage account finances including forecasting, estimating, quoting and profitability.
- Identify opportunities to grow accounts, add value and introduce new services.
- Lead and chair client meetings and workshops.
- Support and mentor Account Managers and Account Executives, helping to develop their skills and confidence.
- Collaborate positively across creative, digital, data, media and partner agencies.
- Play an active role in new business, tenders and pitches.
- Maintain a strong understanding of your clients’ sectors, audiences, competitors and digital trends.
- Ensure high-quality reporting, campaign wash-ups and insight-led learnings.
The ideal change-maker: This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative agency environment and enjoys leading both people and projects. You will be:
- A strategic thinker with strong digital experience.
- Commercially minded, with a proven ability to grow and manage accounts.
- Confident leading senior client relationships.
- Passionate about digital, creativity and effectiveness.
- An excellent communicator - calm, clear and persuasive.
- A natural collaborator who builds trust internally and externally.
- Proactive, organised and detail-focused.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities.
- Experienced in mentoring or line-managing junior team members.
- Knowledgeable across digital channels and how they fit into the wider communications mix.
You’ll ideally have experience in a similar account role within an agency environment. At UNION, diversity isn’t a box-checking exercise - we look to employ the best talent in the market; regardless of gender, orientation, class, culture or ethnicity. The ability to think differently is the lifeblood that fuels our ethos of change. If you can outperform, outthink, and outdo, we want you.
The obvious stuff: Competitive compensation to match your role. Investing in your growth with training. Benefits from pensions to life cover. Ample holiday time, for you to recharge and reflect.
