The Galley Carts Director is responsible for developing and leading Unilode’s Galley Carts business, including owning, leasing, pooling, maintenance, and repair solutions. This role will establish a new product line aligned with Unilode’s ULD management offering, driving commercial growth, operational excellence, and innovation across the galley cart lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities and Mapped Competencies

  • Strategic Leadership and Product Development
    • Develop, own, and execute Unilode’s global strategy for Galley Carts, including leasing, pooling, maintenance, and repair solutions.
    • Establish governance frameworks, operating models, and growth plans for the Galley Carts business line.
    • Partner with OEMs to develop and enhance Unilode’s Galley Cart product offering, ensuring innovation and market relevance.
    • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and entrepreneurial thinking as the function is established and scaled.
  • Commercial Growth and Business Development
    • Work closely with the Business Development team to identify, pursue, and secure new airline customers for Galley Cart leasing and pooling solutions.
    • Develop compelling value propositions to support airline and catering customer adoption of the leasing model.
    • Build strong relationships across airlines, OEMs, and airline catering organizations to create demand and advocacy.
    • Identify revenue growth opportunities and drive commercial performance of the Galley Carts portfolio.
  • Operational Integration and Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Procurement to source and procure Galley Carts, ensuring cost efficiency and supplier performance.
    • Collaborate with Digital and BAPE teams to implement digital tagging, track-and-trace capabilities, and data analytics for fleet visibility and optimization.
    • Work with internal stakeholders to integrate Galley Cart operations into Unilode’s existing infrastructure and service model.
    • Ensure alignment with broader Unilode operational, financial, and customer objectives.
  • Technical Expertise and Compliance
    • Educate internal teams on galley cart operations, technical specifications, regulatory compliance, and certification requirements.
    • Ensure all products and processes meet aviation industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Act as the internal subject matter expert for Galley Carts across all functions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Future Team Development
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, airline operators, and airline catering partners.
    • Act as a key ambassador for Unilode’s Galley Carts offering externally and internally.
    • Lay the foundation for future team growth, including defining roles, capabilities, and structure as the function scales.
    • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture aligned with Unilode’s values.
