We are looking for a Shift Leader to lead and manage our Production teams, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of operations in line with business targets.

You will play a key role in driving performance, engaging your team, and creating a collaborative and results-focused environment.

  • Knowledge & Experience
  • Minimum 3-years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Minimum qualification of a diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent numeric and analytical skills.
  • Ability to meet monthly reporting deadlines.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and SAP Software Systems.
  • Health & Safety Qualification IOSH or equivalent.

  • Key Accountabilities
  • Health & Safety - Promote a safe working environment for all employees by supporting and enforcing standards set out in the Health and Safety policy.

Actively support Unilin’s Zero Harm vision and ensure all related requirements are implemented.

  • Quality Standards - Ensure teams consistently meet quality standards in relation to product quality and housekeeping. Conduct audits as required.
  • Performance Management - Manage team performance and attendance, including conducting performance reviews, addressing disciplinary matters, and managing absence.
  • Training & Development - Ensure operatives are appropriately trained and coached in all aspects of their roles, including health and safety and quality procedures.
  • Trial / Improvements - Participate in production trials and process improvement activities to ensure successful implementation, supporting the technical team as required.
  • Continuous Improvement - Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including KPI management, waste reduction, and production control processes, along with associated administration and record-keeping.
  • Adherence to Production Schedule - Ensure effective deployment of the team in line with the production plan.

Manage breaks and shift handovers to minimise disruption to productivity and workflow.

  • Communication - Ensure effective communication processes are in place, including escalation where necessary.
  • Recruitment - Work in conjunction with HR to support recruitment and induction processes, ensuring all onboarding documentation is completed.
  • Administration - Complete all required administrative tasks and ensure systems are accurately maintained, including Protime, holiday management, and other relevant data.
  • Principal Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the shift team to ensure the delivery of operational objectives, productivity targets, and high levels of employee engagement.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by promoting a strong health and safety culture in line with company standards and the Zero Harm vision.
  • Drive performance and accountability within the team, ensuring standards relating to quality, output, and behaviour are consistently met.
  • Effectively plan and coordinate resources to meet production and warehouse requirements in line with business and audit requirements.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Build effective working relationships across departments to support operational efficiency and business performance.
  • Contribute to the development and capability of team members through coaching, support, and performance management.
  • Support the implementation of business initiatives, change programmes, and operational improvements.
  • Act as a role model for company values, demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and a commitment to excellence.
