We are currently seeking a dynamic Maintenance Manager to lead the Maintenance Department at the Unilin Chesterfield site. This role is accountable for setting the strategic direction, driving reliability improvements, and ensuring alignment with group-wide standards. The successful candidate will empower supervisors and technicians to deliver operational excellence, while focusing on long-term strategy, innovation, and performance against both site and group KPIs.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Engineering qualification with relevant industry experience.
  • 5+ years of senior people management experience, including managing managers.
  • Proven track record in leading maintenance organizations and delivering operational KPIs.
  • Expertise in maintenance techniques: TPM, PPM, CBM, and RCM.
  • Strong ability to identify systemic process improvements and implement preventive strategies.
  • Proficiency in CMMS systems; SAP experience highly advantageous.
  • Experience in stores management and stock control oversight.
  • Track record of tackling and resolving complex maintenance challenges.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to the Maintenance Department, ensuring alignment with site and group objectives.
  • Lead and develop maintenance supervisor and technicians, ensuring they deliver day‑to‑day operational excellence.
  • Champion health, safety, and compliance across all maintenance activities.
  • Reinforce values and maintenance strategy through consistent communication and leadership presence.
  • Drive continuous improvement culture across the plant, auditing and challenging to sustain high standards.
  • Identify and deliver cost savings, efficiency gains, and reliability improvements at a departmental and site‑wide level.
  • Ensure all Maintenance personnel are trained, developed, and empowered to achieve optimum performance.
  • Collaborate closely with Plant Manager and Operations & Engineering Manager IRL/UK to implement strategy, standards, and new techniques.
  • Mentor managers in RCA methodologies to ensure systemic resolution of downtime issues.
  • Oversee effective use of SAP CMMS, ensuring proactive maintenance planning and reduction of reactive work.
  • Continuously evolve TPMs and PMs to strengthen reliability and prevent future downtime.
  • Anticipate and propose future site CAPEX projects to safeguard KPI performance.
  • Travel when required to represent Chesterfield site at quarterly Unilin Engineering/CI group meetings, sharing best practices and innovations.
  • Provide regular progress reports to the Plant Manager.
  • Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet strategic demands of the site.
