About the Growth & Marketing Office (GMO): The GMO are on a mission to reshape how we do marketing to build unmissably superior brands that are the source of Unilever's Growth Action Plan 2030. The GMO is divided into three key teams to enable our shifts - Integrated Brand Experiences, Growth Initiatives & Capabilities and Consumer Market Insights. We have evolved as an area and are now ready to build on last year's foundation, focusing on our new marketing model, Culture that Converts.

We are laser-focused on our three marketing transformation priorities: Elevating the Brand Experience, Social First Demand Generation, and Market Making Innovation.

JOB PURPOSE

As direct partners to the GMO, CMI will play a crucial role to create the insights, frameworks and measurement capabilities that will help with the creation of unmissable brand experiences across media (including retailer media) and content and ensuring that the brands are rooted in culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working closely with Media partners (e.g Google, Meta, Amazon etc), creative agencies and media agencies to identify potential opportunities for Unilever brands to engage with consumers.
  • Identify metrics that will predict RoI of different engagement opportunities in terms of building brands and building sales.
  • Lead the building of best practices for content for emerging engagement opportunities.
  • Provide guidance to the business on how to maximise RoI of the total BMI spend.
  • Develop new tools and frameworks to help support the social first demand generation agenda for Unilever, including both media and content.
  • Actively scout for new technology in the field of brand engagement insights and work closely to develop new tools and embed them in the organisation.
  • Understand and drive new learnings on values and culture and how they impact media and content consumption behaviours.
  • Work closely with agencies to decode content best practices across traditional and digital content.

You should have an entrepreneurial mind-set and self-starter, curious spirit to embrace a research discipline that is continuously evolving to be able to keep driving GMO 3 steps ahead. You should have a passion for consumers and media and a desire to continuously learn. You need to demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills as you will be required to give internal presentations to senior stakeholders. You need to be comfortable with interacting and influencing various stakeholders and working collaboratively with multiple teams. Your mission is to be an expert advisor to the business and to provide thought excellence and lead the business in areas that unlock growth.

  • Prior social media/ content experience is an advantage.
  • Strong project management skills: Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced / always evolving environment and prioritise workload as requests will likely be more than resources allow.
  • Good analytical thinking and communication skills to present clearly, simplify complex topics and influence decision making; communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable working with data (analysis and interpretation).
  • A team player: collaborative, accountable, open minded who likes to work in rapid and agile way.

Location: In June 2020 we announced our plan to consolidate a number of Unilever's offices across the South East of England into a new Unilever campus in Kingston-upon-Thames in or around early 2025. However, on the 08 August 2024 we announced to our existing staff our proposal to retain our central Head Office in London, 100 Victoria Embankment until our lease expires in 2027. As a result of this new proposal, we will be consulting with our existing staff, and new joiners who join during this period of consultation at 100VE, on the proposal made in August 2024. During consultation we will clarify the future location of each team and function. This means your role will either be based in 100VE until 2027 or in Kingston-Upon-Thames from early 2025. As we are yet to commence consultation on the proposal you agree, until such a time when consultation has concluded, your normal place of work as set out in the enclosed Statement of Terms & Conditions will be 100VE. You agree that on the conclusion of the consultation your place of work will be 100VE or 100VE until early 2025 and then Kingston-upon-Thames.
