Overview

Based in Corporate Centre this role sits within Global HR and works closely with Global Communications, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Teams, including global external content and channels and our Business Group, Functional and Geography communications teams who are driving People Comms across the organisation.
The successful candidate will have a passion to inform, inspire and engage colleagues worldwide. They will be able to navigate ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapidly evolving business priorities. They will be proactive with strong planning capabilities, attention to detail and a flair for creative thinking, with excellent written and audio-visual communication skills. They should know how to work effectively with agency partners, collaborate across team boundaries, and be ready to build and measure employee communications campaigns and outcomes (not just outputs).
Key responsibilities
- Development, ownership, and delivery of campaign plans, prioritising and aligning activities in each of our strategic pillar areas to enable successful implementation.
- Be the day-to-day custodian of core global employee communications channels.
- Drive best practice and innovation across channels and manage interaction with IT stakeholders.
- Lead campaign work streams, manage project teams and assign production and delivery tasks to team members or external agencies.
- Editorial oversight and commissioning of articles, videos, and other content.
- Produce and curate content such as articles, messaging documents, or social posts as required.
- Support senior colleagues and stakeholders to build short, medium, and longer-term plans.
- Oversee and manage the quality of work delivered by third-party suppliers and agencies against service level agreements.
- Approve content to be published, ensuring quality control and accessibility standards, and develop Unileverβs voice and visual identity in line with branding and goals.
- Work cross-functionally and collaborate with other teams to enhance the employee experience, identifying new content opportunities.
- Act as main interface with the Global Content Team.
- Coordinate stakeholders across the business for internal communications and engagement pieces for global channels.
- Analyse campaign performance, identify trends, and present findings.
- Analyse content reach and prepare measurement reports for senior management.
Key skills and requirements
- Experience developing and implementing impactful internal communications campaigns.
- Solid knowledge of communications disciplines, especially employee communications and engagement, social media, campaigns, and events management.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint.
- Experience producing and editing video for digital channels and using photo/video editing software.
- Excellent understanding of social media platforms and digital media, with business and marketing acumen.
- Community management using internal social platforms to drive engagement.
- Ability to analyse data, spot trends, and use analytics tools for reporting.
- Solid project management skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and a varied workload with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
Desired experience
- At least 5 years of internal communications experience.
- Minimum one or two years at internal communications manager level.
- Exposure to external communications is an advantage.
- Up-to-date with evolving communications technologies.
- International organisation experience is preferred.
- Consumer goods or related industry experience is an advantage.
