Manpower are currently seeking an interim Assistant Manufacturing Innovation Technician to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment. The position is based in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral, easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role to run for 18 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £35,000 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.
This role will involve working across plant facilities in Port Sunlight, supporting innovation launches and general plant related activities. The successful candidate will be working across fabric wash liquid, fabric enhancers and home and hygiene innovations that are launched in Port Sunlight.
Key Accountabilities- Generating validation documents for main plant trials and monitored productions.
- Carrying out monitored productions with the innovation launch team.
- Carrying out lab testing during trials.
- Supporting plant related planning activities such as weekly disinfections and batch sizing review.
- Reviewing COGIs in plant and ensuring material stock levels are up to date.
- Supporting innovation lead with gathering plant data (quality, performance).
- Supporting daily meetings in plant and reviewing data.
- Assisting in wider plant projects related to waste, operational efficiency improvements.
- HND level or above in a relevant discipline within manufacturing operations, engineering, or laboratory management.
- High Level of numeracy and IT Skills (especially Excel).
- Self-confident with a positive approach to work.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
- Ability to work as part of a team and to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Ability to manage and organise own workload including planning and prioritising to meet deadlines.
