JOB PURPOSE
This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who is an experienced media expert looking for their next step up leadership opportunity. You will need to lead the marketing teams and ice-cream business through the ever-changing media landscape including new HFSS media legislation. We live in a connected world, where data & technology empowers consumers and shoppers and creates widespread fragmentation. It is no surprise that digital is transforming the way we think, shop and engage with our brands and our shoppers. The new Ice-Cream company wants to be on the forefront of innovation in both traditional and digital marketing, both on and offsite, working directly with media agencies and retailers as they develop and scale their media capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Media Planning & Activation
- Drive Best in class Holistic Media Planning and execution.
- Lead, coordinate and deliver best in class holistic media plans (offline and online) that fully leverage data and insights to target media effectively, that are accountable for building brand power.
- Manage media activation based on marketing plan/activity calendar including mobilising/coordinating digital hub channel specialists to deploy locally.
- Responsible for driving digital media execution in particular relating to data driven marketing (including the use of 1P, 2P, 3P data), search and performance marketing.
- Work with the DCOMM Performance marketing/retailer media experts to drive optimisations both on and off the retailer.
- Digital & Data expert: from audience segmentation to creatives and in-flight optimisation.
- Ability to advise on all things media and data driven marketing to internal stakeholders through depth of media knowledge, providing expertise on specific channels and opportunities, data strategies, including ecommerce, and by explaining complex information in an easily digestible way.
- Drive efficiencies through rigour and relationships.
- Engage directly with external media owners to deliver the very best value for new Ice-cream Company across all levers – price (annual deals, budget complexities, sponsorship deals), innovation, and best practice.
- Lead the external media-building relationships both with traditional media players e.g., ITV/ Star / Canal and digital players e.g., Meta, Google, Amazon.
- Drive best practice and thought leadership strategy.
- Drive Media and digital media innovation – pioneering the future of media and data driven marketing through a continuous test, learn and scale approach.
- Drive the transformation needed for Ice Cream through media innovation in the areas that are linked to the ice cream strategy. These could include connected TV, live streaming, social commerce etc.
- Lead the HFSS future-proof media strategy and planning with both internal and external partners.
- Represent the new Ice-Cream company externally at media-relevant events and networking meetings.
- End-to-End Retail Media
- This role will lead the Retail Media strategy for onsite and offsite media for new ice-cream company. Working to deliver best-in-class digital campaigns and always-on activity across the evolving Retail Media landscape.
- Set the strategy for IC across Retail Media.
- Retail Media JBPs (ensure JBP includes instore, offsite, and online, this requires close collaboration with Shopper): Negotiate rate cards and added value.
- Drive fair value across retail media.
- Set ways of working.
- Build joint media capabilities.
- Plan and execute always-on onsite campaigns (across display and search) e.g. Criteo, Citrus. This activity is always-on and needs planning +2 months in advance.
- Plan and execute offsite campaigns via Retail Media Networks, this includes effectively briefing relevant agencies.
- Build campaign briefs with defined audiences, KPIs and clear campaign objectives.
- Manage budget process from forecasting to PO raising etc.
- Own DDM post campaign analysis (PCAs) with retailers and share DDM and onsite search performance with CAMs, Shopper, DMC & Brand.
- Lead media best practices, ensuring media standards are implemented and tracked for all retailer DDM campaigns.
- Synthesise DDM campaign learnings to continuously improve our DDM performance.
- Ensure QBR’s are in place with every retailer including Shopper Marketing and CBD team.

LEADERSHIP & EXPERIENCE:
- Holistic brand communication management experience multi-brand leadership experience at an agency.
- Advertising/Media budget management experience.
- Retail Media expert: experience working with Retail Media Networks.
- Experience in media agency management in support of delivering media plans and activities that deliver business goals.
- Experience in driving change and embedding media innovation in the business.
- Experience in data driven marketing and performance/ecommerce.
- Exposure to disciplines such as CRM, Mar-Tech and Ad-Tech platform management.
