SEO Content Executive

It’s a really exciting time to join our SEO team – you’ll be involved with exciting projects such as growing our Content Ambassador network of student writers across the UK, in creating and applying innovative strategies for AI search, boosting UniHomes’ presence on leading student forums and news sites, and more. With more than 70,000 URLs to work with, the SEO opportunity and ability to make a real impact on the business through your role is huge. You’ll work closely with our SEO Manager, SEO Executive and the wider Marketing department to cost-effectively drive new student acquisition. We’re a team of ambitious and curious marketing experts, who are driven to be leaders in our field – both for the business and the partners who advertise with us. As our SEO Content Executive, you’ll use your expertise to help grow our organic search visibility, traffic and enquiries through intelligent on-site optimisations and well-crafted content campaigns.
Key responsibilities:
- Improve organic conversion rates across Google, Bing and AI search by optimising websites in the UniHomes group in line with SEO best practices.
- Help manage and grow our national Content Ambassador programme, working with students across the UK to create insightful articles and guides based on real-life student experiences.
- Deliver our backlink strategy, building relationships with and generating coverage from a diverse pool of target audiences, including student sites, universities, letting agents, news outlets and industry bodies.
- Spotting SEO opportunities, carrying out competitor analysis to inform our strategies, and staying abreast of SEO industry/best practice developments.
- Support our SEO team with other Search Marketing tasks and wider Marketing team with insights and campaign delivery where required.
Skills and experience:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role in SEO/Content Marketing.
- Strong understanding of SEO best practices and principles, including basic technical SEO principles, and Digital PR/linkbuilding.
- Excellent content writing and editing abilities.
- Experience creating high-quality written content and prospecting and outreaching campaigns to build high-quality, relevant backlinks.
- Proficiency with Google Search Console, SEMRush, GA4, Looker Studio and in core SEO activities such as keyword research, content optimisation, SEO performance analysis.
- Proactive, ideas-oriented mindset and a collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic and supportive work environment.
- Strong organisational and communication skills to effectively manage large-scale projects.
- Wordpress experience desirable (especially Elementor).
