Account Manager (PBSA/BTR)

Field-based / Remote

Salary: £40,000 + car allowance + commission (OTE £50,000+)

Are you a highly driven Account Manager with proven experience in the PBSA/BTR sector ready to make your mark in a pivotal new role? Reporting directly to our Head of Client Acquisition (PBSA/BTR), you'll be instrumental in establishing UniHomes' presence within the Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) and Build-to-Rent (BTR) sectors. While UniHomes is a well-established and rapidly scaling PropTech leader, this role represents an exciting, brand-new direction for our growth, focused on launching our innovative rental advertising product into these key markets. You'll be vital in shaping our future in this space.

As our dedicated Account Manager, you'll be the linchpin in ensuring our partners' portfolios are not just accurately represented but thriving on our platform. You'll become a trusted advisor, empowering large accommodation providers to optimise listings, drive lead generation, and significantly boost tenancy conversions. This commercially focused, B2B role demands exceptional relationship management, keen attention to detail, and a deep understanding of the student accommodation market. This is a prime opportunity to make a significant impact in a new, high-growth area and contribute directly to UniHomes' ambitious expansion.

This role offers the best of both worlds: the flexibility of remote work for the first half of the year, allowing you to establish foundational relationships and strategies from your home base. As the business enters its peak season in the latter half of the year, you'll transition to a dynamic, field-based role, travelling nationally up to three days a week with some overnight stays. This extensive travel provides an invaluable chance to build strong, in-person connections with key decision-makers across the PBSA and BTR sectors, attending industry events and conducting impactful meetings to drive growth and optimise partner performance nationwide.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain robust, high-value relationships with key decision-makers within PBSA and BTR operators.
  • Serve as the primary strategic point of contact, leading ongoing discussions around performance, optimisation, and new opportunities.
  • Conduct a minimum of 10 impactful meetings per week, including in-depth account reviews, strategic follow-ups, and platform training sessions.
  • Actively represent UniHomes at industry networking events and conferences to strengthen relationships and uncover new opportunities.

Performance and growth optimisation

  • Proactively monitor, analyse, and significantly improve the performance of operator listings, ensuring maximum visibility, competitiveness, and data accuracy.
  • Deliver regular, insightful reports and data-driven recommendations that directly contribute to partner success and conversion rates.
  • Provide weekly performance headlines and comprehensive reports to the Head of PBSA and BTR.

Portfolio excellence

  • Ensure all partner listings are complete, up-to-date, and consistently exceed platform standards across pricing, availability, rich media (images/virtual tours), and detailed property information.
  • Collaborate with operators to effectively roll out impactful promotional offers and dynamic seasonal adjustments.

Internal collaboration and innovation

  • Work seamlessly across our product, content, and marketing teams to address client needs swiftly and enhance overall platform functionality.
  • Identify and help implement process improvements that elevate partner satisfaction and streamline operational efficiencies.

Skills and experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' hands‑on Account Management experience within a B2B setting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence at all levels.
  • A strong commercial mindset underpinned by a proactive, data‑driven approach to account growth and revenue generation.
  • Proficient and comfortable navigating property management systems, CRM platforms (ideally Salesforce), and various online marketplaces.
  • Highly organised, capable of managing a diverse portfolio of accounts simultaneously while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • A clear, confident, and persuasive communicator (both written and verbal) who can articulate complex information effectively.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence (as this is a field‑based role with regular travel).

Highly desirable

  • Experience and a strong network directly within the Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) and/or Build-to-Rent (BTR) sector.
  • Direct experience within the PropTech, SaaS, or online marketplace environments.
  • Familiarity with occupancy strategies, revenue management, and seasonal trends specific to student accommodation.
  • Experience with the International Student Market.
